About Us
1960 School of Nursing started
KASTURBA HOSPITAL is the oldest Hospital for women and children in Delhi. It was established in 1905 and was previously called Victoria Zenana Hospital. It was renamed Kasturba Hospital in 1975.
History of Kasturba Hospital
- Mission:1905 Started with only 10 beds by Lady Milton and her brother Stephen Thomas.
- Academic Excellence:1935 Children ward was added
- Research Innovation:1989 Nine storied building added now a Hostel for Doctors, Nurses & Students.
- Community Engagement:1974 MCD increased the bed strength to 275, then to 450 in 1975 and Renamed as kasturba hospital.
- Core Values:1957 Private Ward added.
